Frequently asked questions...

How do I know if Greystone is the place for me or my family member?

Greystone is the perfect home for ambulatory elderly ladies age 70 or older, without severe psychological impairments, who seek care and companionship and are concerned about being left alone for hours or with only a call button in case of emergency.  If you seek the best for your family in a true home-like intimate setting, and desire competitive rates, we invite you to visit Greystone.

What medical testing and records will I need for consideration?

Greystone provides all residents with comprehensive care.  We require all incoming residents to provide a full medical history with a recent physical exam including chest x-ray.

How long does the residency approval process take?

Because of the individual nature of the prospective resident review process, approval time will vary.  However, the average time is 2 to 4 weeks.

What payment sources does Greystone currently accept?

Private pay.

Are all assisted living homes licensed and inspected by the State of Michigan?

The State of Michigan licenses and inspects adult foster care homes and homes for the aged.  For the State of Michigan you can check any license at the Department of Human Services web site and search License Lookups.

How do I go about choosing an assisted living home?

The most important thing is to visit any potential facility in person and ask questions.  This is not something you can do on the internet or the telephone. Check for the atmosphere, common area cleanliness, and the type of residents living there. Ideally you want to find a place that feels like one big happy family.
